Just days after being launched the Liberal Democrat’s stop the Green Bin Tax petition has reached over 2000 signatures and rising. Residents are making their voices heard on the Council’s plans to charge for green waste collection starting next year.
The charge could see more green waste being burned, fly-tipped or put in the black bins. And it would lead to more trips by car to household waste sites, all of which is environmentally damaging.
