York Community Woodland
York Lib Dems are celebrating the new York Community Woodland which we created while running the city between 2019 and 2023. It shows what can be achieved by an administration that looks forward. We are all very proud of this amazing project that will protect biodiversity and cut York's carbon emissions while providing a wonderful new public open space!
York's council housing investment
The previous York Lib Dem led council embarked upon an ambitious plan to build 600 energy efficient homes across York, including 250 council owned properties. These homes are built to 'Passivhaus' standard, which results in energy savings of up to 90%!
Broad Highway resurfacing
Lib Dem councillor Christian Vassie, who represents Wheldrake ward, has managed to get a pothole ridden road in his ward resurfaced after years of campaigning, allowing for residents to more easily access green spaces in their area.
