First Look at New Haxby Post Office Ahead of Opening
Local Liberal Democrat councillors have been given a first look inside the new Haxby Post Office ahead of its official opening on Monday at 1pm.
Councillor Andrew Hollyer visited the new branch at the former Dutch Nurseries on The Village alongside new Postmaster Aran Singh to see how preparations are progressing ahead of opening day.
The visit comes just weeks after Lib Dem councillors confirmed the new permanent post office for Haxby and Wigginton following months of campaigning, negotiations, and strong backing from local residents.
Councillor Andrew Hollyer said:
“It’s fantastic to see the new post office ready to open its doors on Monday. After months of hard work to secure this vital service, it’s great that residents will once again have a permanent facility on the The Village.
“We would also like to thank Oaken Grove Community Centre for hosting the temporary post office, the staff who kept services running during that time, and Haxby Town Council for helping to fund the temporary provision.”
The new Haxby Post Office will officially open at 1pm on Monday.
