Working to Make Fulford and Heslington even better!

Following Keith’s summer survey, over the autumn months local councillor Keith Aspden, together with the Lib Dem team have been busy checking every part of the ward for local issues.

Keith has reported issues such as potholes and poor pavement surfaces, blocked drains, broken street signs and street lights and faded white lines to the Council. Keith is pleased to have seen some action to address these already.

The Heslington Cricket Club - a community based Cricket Club with 3 senior sides
and a junior section playing cricket at all age groups, has been awarded £3,000 from
the ward budget towards updating their facilities.

Heslington village meeting hall improvements secured- An £8,000 investment from the Heslington and Fulford Ward Committee budget will see work take place to improve the disabled access to the Heslington Village Meeting Room. This work will involve extending the paved footway area and levelling the existing paving flags to ensure wheelchair access is sufficient and protected against vehicle
damage. The works will improve wheelchair access whilst maintaining the existing vehicular and pedestrian access. Council officers are aiming to have these works completed in February 2022.

New salt bins installed - New salt bins are set to be installed across Fulford and Heslington. Anson Drive, St. Oswalds Road, Heath Moor Drive, as well as Main Street will see ward budget used to install new salt bins.
