Over the bank holiday weekend, there was a Big Jubilee Lunch on Main Street, in Heslington village.
This was a street party on the 5th June to celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee and Heslington village, with food, drink and entertainment! The local ward committee contributed some funding to make the day happen and Cllr Keith Aspden thanked all the local volunteers.
In Fulford, the annual Bank Holiday community show returns on 29th August,1-5pm, based around the School Lane playing fields. Everybody is invited with stalls, entertainment and exhibits. To book a stall, volunteer to help or find out more please go to: www.fulfordshow.org.uk
Keith commented, "I would encourage people to come along and enjoy the day, which supports many local charities. Whilst the ongoing pandemic saw last year's show changed, the hard work and dedication of the volunteers involved is essential to what makes Fulford Show such a great event.”
