As part of efforts to support local community groups following two years of the pandemic, local councillors have backed Haxby Carnival and Wiggyfest with significant funding.
Wiggyfest will take place on 4 June as part of celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and is aiming to raise money for local community causes. This event will have many attractions including a sound stage with varied acts, a beer tent and lots to do and watch for all the family. On 9 July 2022 Haxby Carnival will return with a procession through the village.
The Carnival has been hugely missed since it was last held in 2019 and we’re sure it will be a wonderful day for all the family, as always. Councillor Ed Pearson said: “We’re pleased to be able to support these two events, to bring the community together and showcase the best of Haxby and Wigginton.”
