Councillor for Westfield
Sue was born in York and has lived in Acomb for most of her life, currently on Green Lane with her partner Nigel. Sue runs the local florist Floral Elegance and has done for the last 14 years.
Sue jointly formed Acomb Alive Traders Association with the aim to assist local business to promote and encourage the local community and surrounding areas to shop locally.
Her aim is to help create a better shopping experience, tidy up the area and regain the community life that Acomb Village had and will have again. Being a local lass, Sue believes she has a greater understanding as to what Acomb residents would like to see for their village.
Sue currently holds the position of spokesperson for Housing and Safer Communities.
Sue is the Lib Dem spokesperson for Housing and Safer Communities. A key focus for Sue will be representing the views of council tenants across York.
Her spokesperson role covers: Alcohol and Drugs Action, Housing Fraud, Safer Neighbourhoods, Police liaison, Anti-Social Behaviour, Licensing Enforcement and Licensing Policy (in conjunction with Chair of Licensing), Youth Offending, Community Cohesion and Prevent.
