James moved to York in 2014 after being selected as the prospective parliamentary candidate (PPC) for York Outer and stood in the recent 2017 General Election. Before this, he served on the Kirklees Council in Huddersfield for 4 years.
Professionally, James has worked in the communications sector both publicly and privately. He currently works as an Engagement Support Manager for the NHS. James studied Computer Science at the University of Leeds.
James and his wife, Bridget, have three children together.
Ian has been resident of Osbaldwick and Derwent for many years and is a member of the Derwenthorpe Residents Association core team. He works as a System Administrator at Bytemark, an Internet Hosting company based in York.
Before moving to York, Ian served as a Councillor for 8 years on the Lewes District Council in East Sussex.
Ian has a keen interest in astronomy and helped the York Astronomical Society get permission to move their observatory from Rufforth to Murton.
Ian is interested primarily in the environment, equal opportunities for all and fighting poverty.
