After over 4 years of work, Strensall with Towthorpe's Neighbourhood Plan has been finalised and submitted to City of York Council. It will now undergo inspection by a Government Planning Inspector and, if successful, will go to a referendum which will decide if it is adopted.
Neighbourhood plans become statutory planning documents and give local people far more say in how any development takes place, whether this be new builds or extensions.
“I'd like to thank the dedicated team of residents who worked so hard to develop the Neighbourhood Plan”, said Councillor Tony Fisher, who was himself part of the team. “I'd particularly like to thank Keith Marquis, who chaired the working party and put in many hundreds of hours of dedicated work to get it all pulled together. We are all deeply in his debt.”
