The Lord Mayor of York, Cllr Keith Orrell, is all set for his first fundraiser in just 2 weeks on the 28th June. For his first outing, to raise money for 3 local charities, the Lord Mayor will be hosting a curry night at the Mumbai Lounge on Fossgate with the Sheriff and Civic Party.
Diners will have the option to sample a wide range of currys, with a starter, rice and 2 sides all for just £25.
All proceeds raised from this event will go directly to supporting The Island, York Blind and Partially Sighted Society and the York Music Hub.
The Rt. Hon Lord Mayor, who is proud to support these 3 worthwhile charities during his year in office said:
“This will be a great event to enjoy with colleagues, friends and family. The Mumbai Lounge is one of the best curry houses in the North as we are in for a treat! We have a great night planned and hope as many people as possible come and support us and our charities.”
Cllr Ashley Mason, chair of the Lord Mayors Fundraising Committee, added:
“This will be a very informal event and will be a great chance to sample some high quality Indian food whilst helping to raise money for these deserving local charities”.
