Fulford residents are being invited to join local councillor Keith Aspden for a virtual presentation and Q&A on the 27th September 2021 at 5pm to discuss the latest update on the joined-up plan for local flood defences in the village.
Cllr Keith Aspden has long campaigned with local residents and representatives from the Parish Council to secure funding for additional flood defences in Fulford. The campaign has called for these defences to protect not just the A19, but to include the Fordlands Road community.
Most recently the Council budget proposals agreed a £2mil investment in the delivery of a joined up flood scheme, to unlock a £4.9m budget. This new £2 million will then unlock the £600,000 already agreed by the Council, £1m for flood schemes, and a new £1.3m contribution from the Environment Agency.
Residents are invited to hear more about the future plans and ask their questions to the Council’s flood manager at the update meeting on the 27th September, the meeting will take place using Zoom, between 5pm-6:30pm.
To register, residents are invited to visit https://tinyurl.com/FulfordFlood and book their place and receive the Zoom joining details.
