Katharine is from the Essex/Hertfordshire border and studies archaeology at the University of York where she has got involved in both the local council and the university branch, where she is Treasurer.
She has been involved in the Liberal Democrats for most of her life, as her mother and grandfather were both councillors in a minority Liberal Democrat ruled council.
Chris is a student at the University, where he currently studies history. He’s been a campaigner with the York liberal Democrats since moving to York. He lives on Alcuin avenue, where he’s lived since moving into the ward.
As a campaigner he particularly cares about improving housing in York, and improving mental health services and demanding a better deal for local residents. Personal interests include Sailing, films and economics.
Ian was born in York and has lived in the city all his life. He has attended Joseph Rowntree School and York College. His campaigning experience dates back to his school days when he was involved in starting a petition to have Politics added to the ‘A’ Level curriculum.
After finishing school Ian spent a number of years in retail and customer service. He then moved on to a career in the arts and currently works as a theatre technician. In addition to this he has also been involved with various local drama groups and events, including the York Mystery Plays, and has jointly incorporated his own theatre company.
In his spare time, Ian enjoys watching films and reading.
