The local ward committee has agreed £8,000 for footway and access improvements to the Meeting Room, in Main Street, Heslington. Following the suggestion from the community, the improvements will ensure improved pedestrian and disabled access to the facilities. A consultation has taken place to help design the scheme, which is planned for later this year.
Cllr Keith Aspden, Ward Councillor for Heslington, commented, "It's great to be able to work in partnership with local groups, including Heslington Parish Council, to deliver new access improvements to the Village Meeting Room. “I look forward to seeing the works take place later this year and hope that lots of local residents' benefit."
