Congratulations to Earswick Parish Council for their successful bid for cash to improve their facilities behind the village hall.
The results of the £175,000 Community Challenge Fund, set up by Liberal Democrats on City of York Council, awarded £3,346 for new play equipment.
Local councillor Tony Fisher said: “Playgrounds are an essential element to the health and development of the mind and body, providing opportunities for children to practise a range of social, emotional, physical and mental skills.
"We’d like to thank the Parish Council for their efforts in securing these improvements for Earswick.”
In addition, and to continue the work done throughout the pandemic to support local residents and businesses, Liberal Democrats on City of York Council have recently secured a £3.5m Covid Recovery Fund for the city.
Recognising that the challenges of Coronavirus will continue throughout 2021, this fund will include support for local communities, residents on low incomes, local businesses, mental health support providers and sustainable travel incentives.
