Richard Brown

Richard has lived in York since 1971 and in Copmanthorpe for 28 years. He works as a librarian for the British Library at Boston Spa and studied for a social science degree whilst working full-time and also has a Masters degree from Leeds Metropolitan University.

Richard has many interests including genealogy, travel, learning foreign languages and looking after his pets. He enjoys all types of music, from pop to opera, and is currently teaching himself to play the piano.

Richard believes strongly in accountability and fairness in local government and that frontline services should be priorities. He wants to preserve the quality of life in Copmanthorpe, while ensuring that residents are not excluded through lack of access to transport, care or social support.
