Our local Lib Dem Councillor Nigel Ayre has welcomed the news that road maintenance works are to be carried out at Straylands Grove, commencing on the 1 st June.
After the significant ward budget investment to repair the road back in 2019, successful lobbying efforts by Nigel will see further work carried out.
York Liberal Democrats have secured over £25 million investment in this year’s budget to improve the city’s highways and increase the scale and speed of improvements. This is despite the £13.8m Government highways maintenance cut for York and North Yorkshire in 2021/22.
The works on Straylands Grove will be carried out for a period of 1 day, commencing on 1 st June 2021, between 9.00am – 4.00pm.
All on-street parking will be suspended during the hours of the works for the full duration, but specific access requirements can be arranged by speaking to the site Traffic Management Operatives, who will coordinate with residents (and business requirements) around the ongoing work operations.
Bus service 20 will divert via Stockton Lane and Malton Rd, not serving Woodlands Grove or Straylands Grove. Services CAS will divert via Malton Rd, not serving Stockton Lane, Woodlands Grove or Straylands Grove. Site staff will be on hand to advise and assist residents about any access restrictions once the works are ongoing.
