Daniel has lived in Acaster Malbis for 14 years. He has been involved in politics for over 20 years having served as a councillor in Gillingham, where he was chairperson of Housing, Finance and Leisure services at various times.
He also served as a councillor on North East Lincolnshire Council and was Cabinet Member for Finance and Performance, as well as chair of the Audit Committee.
Daniel is a professor, holds a Master’s degree in Financial Management and is a qualified Accountant. He has extensive experience in business and education. He has held various roles in education, including as Principal/Chief Executive of two large colleges both in the public and private sector, including the Grimsby Institute. He was awarded an OBE for services to education.
Daniel is passionate about improving York’s education services and creating an economy for all. He is excited to represent the people of Bishopthorpe ward and will work diligently to put local residents first.
