Ann is married with 3 children and 2 grandchildren, Ann has lived in York since 1985. She was first elected to the Council in 1986 representing the Foxwood Ward and has represented Dringhouses and Woodthorpe since 2003.
In 1993/94 she served as Lord Mayor. Ann was a member of the Executive from 2003 to 2011 first with responsibility for City Strategy and subsequently as Executive Member for Neighbourhoods and Housing. From 2014 until 2017 she served as Chair of Planning at City of York Council.
In her spare time she likes reading and is a member of the Company of Cordwainers of the City York and a past Master.
Ann holds the positions of Interim Executive Member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism and Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group
Amongst her achievements has been the provision of the round-about at the Moor Lane/A1237 junction and improvements to the recycling system that saw a rise in the recycling rate from 12% in 2002 up to 44.5%
Anns responsible for a number of key projects as the Executive Member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, including delivering the new Community Stadium in Huntington.
